Doctors
Eye care services have been available in downtown West Branch since 1932. Dr. Gerald Garner began seeing patients in 1950. His mother was an optometrist before him.  West Branch Eyecare now has three eye doctors offering comprehensive eye exams. The doctors treat glaucoma, infections, allergies, dry eyes and injuries. They also diagnose and co-manage diabetic retinopathy, cataracts, macular degeneration and other eye diseases. All doctors are refractive surgery affiliates.

Dr. Barnhart has been providing eye care services in West Branch since 1980. He graduated from H.H.Dow High School in Midland in 1971, received a Bachelor of Science degree from Alma College in 1975, and a Doctor of Optometry degree from Michigan College of Optometry in 1979. He has interned in the Optometric Institute and Clinic of Detroit, has been a clinical instructor at the Optometry College, and worked in an Ophthalmology office in Saginaw.

Dr. Barnhart and his wife Terry have three daughters and a son. All have graduated from Ogemaw Heights High School.  All are married.  Amy is currently working for an international language company. Mary is a program director for a community center in Bellevue, Washington. Leslie is an architect in Albuquerque, New Mexico.  Andrew is on staff  at a church in Mukilteo, Washington.   Grandparenting duties mandate that Dr.B. and his wife fly west periodically.

Dr. Lenahan has been providing eye care services in West Branch since February 2002. She joined West Branch Eyecare after practicing optometry in the Metro Detroit area for nine years. She graduated from Reed City High School in Reed City, MI in 1985. Dr. Lenahan earned her Bachelor of Visual Science degree from Ferris State University in 1990 and her Doctor of Optometry degree from Michigan College of Optometry in 1992. She completed her internship at Wurtsmith Air Force Base in Oscoda, MI and at Colmery-O’Neill Veteran’s Administration Medical Center in Topeka, KS.

Dr. Lenahan and her husband Chris Finkbeiner have twin boys, Colin and Dylan. Life is a never-ending whirlwind of activity at the Finkbeiner home. When Dr. Lenahan is not busy working or taking care of her children, she enjoys hiking, gardening, reading and crafts.

Dr. Norfleet has been providing eye care services in West Branch since the summer of 2002. He graduated from Oscar A. Carlson High School in  Gibraltor, MI in 1987, received a Bachelor of Science degree from Ferris State University in 1990, and a Doctor of Optometry Degree   from the Michigan College of Optometry in 1994. He interned at the Toledo  Veteran Administration and Comprehensive Health Services (The Wellness Plan) of Detroit.

Dr. Norfleet and his wife, Dr. Janel Norfleet, have three children;  Andrew, Aaron, and Anna. The kids make sure there is never a dull moment around the Norfleet household. When Dr. Norfleet gets a few moments to  himself he can be found on the lake or in the woods depending on the season.
